NWSWF Football Ready School Inclusive Program supported by City of Ryde

North West Sydney Women’s Football Association delivered a 5 week inclusive Football Ready School Program at Ryde Public School during the month of May. The NWSWF Football Ready School Inclusive project was supported by funding from City of Ryde.

On day one of the program, the students were presented with playing shirts and at the conclusion of the program, the students received trophies. Football equipment including goals, balls, bibs and cones were gifted to the Ryde Public School to assist with the sustainability of the program.

The football activities throughout the sessions were tailored towards the needs of all participants, allowing individuals to develop fundamental core skills and an overall basic understanding of the game. The Football Ready Program maintained a strong focus on maximum participation and enjoyment as well as providing opportunities for individuals to develop ball skills and improve their fitness. The sessions also allowed for participants to demonstrate and learn other necessary skills such as teamwork, listening and communication skills.

NWSWF would like to acknowledge and thank all the wonderful teachers at Ryde Public School who helped make the program a success. A special mention to NWSWF Coaches Leisl Stimpson, Mackenzie Davis and Football FNSW Community Game Development Officer Charlotte Ercil. This inclusion project would not have been possible without the funding support from the City of Ryde and football equipment supplied by Elite Sports.
